The Course

This course provides a short introduction to to sailing for novices. By the end of the course, participants will have a basic understanding of boat handling, techniques and background knowledge.

Friday is classroom based, Saturday and Sunday are mainly time on the water interspersed with theory.

Our training boats are Laser 2000's, this is a common training boat that can accommodate 3 people. An instructor will be with you in the boat throughout the Level 1 training.

Wear clothing suitable for the weather, old trainers are fine.

Buoyancy aids will be provided. You don't have to be a strong swimmer, the buoyancy aid will keep you afloat and there will always be a safety boat on hand.

Beverages and biscuits will be available throughout the day, you are welcome to bring sandwiches for Saturday but we do a run to the chip shop.

Safety is our priority and if the conditions are not suitable for beginners the course may be postponed.
